Meet Our Residents

Our residents have been rescued and found their forever homes (with the exception of the fostered donkeys from PVDR) and are loved unconditionally for the rest of their lives. The health and happiness of our residents is the upmost priority and is held to a high standard.

Yehudi

his is Yehudi a 10 year old mule who was saved from the slaughterhouse. He came to the farm and bonded with one Tosso the horse and they are sharing the stall and are always together. Usually little Shorty joins the team. Yehudi was severly abused and the first few month nobody could touch him. He still has trust issues with people but is coming slowly along and I am sure will be fine eventually. He is very sweet to all the other animals and loves swimming in the pont and trying to get the other animals to play.

Himalaya (Laya)

This is Laya one of the newest rescues. She and her sister Everest (Eevi or Mooi) were owned by a girl and shown on 4-H shows. She had bottle fed them and tried to breed them for the last 2 years. The property where Eevi and Laya were living got sold for development. Since they could not get pregnant, no dairy farm was taking them in and they would have had to go to slaughter. They are 4 and 5 years old and will live out their lives on the Sanctuary. Both are very sweet and love cuddling and affection.

Everest (Eevi or Mooi)

Additional Residents

As permanent guests we provide land for the bees of Dan Richards. Dan picks up unwanted bees and moves them to our property. He takes wonderful care of them and helps out these wonderful creatures who are so important to our environment. If you know about bees who need a new home please contact Dan the beekeeper at 941-809-7006 and schedule a rehoming.
